JIBS organizes the first international conference on community psychology
New Delhi, November 1 (IANS): The Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS) in collaboration with the Community Psychology Association of India (CPAI) organized the first International Conference on Community Psychology (ICCP) at the OP Jindal Global University. The three-day conference aimed to explore contemporary themes in the broader field of community psychology.
The three-day conference brought together leading professors, experts, psychologists and academics from various fields to explore contemporary themes in the broader field of community psychology.
“The purpose of the conference was to illustrate the scope of research in community psychology by integrating various themes of interest,” said Dr Sanjeev P. Sahni, senior director of the Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS).
“Community psychologists can play an important role in the well-being of individuals and communities. It is therefore essential to examine the cultural, economic, social, political and environmental factors that shape and influence the psychological aspects of individuals and communities. In this conference, we have sought to explore the same thing further, ”added Dr Sahni.
During the conference, 11 round tables and seven article presentations highlighted both theories of relevance and applied aspects in several related fields, such as economics, sociology, ecology and science. feminist psychology.

AVS Madnawat, former professor of psychology, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur; Professor (Dr.) Ramjee Lal, Secretary General of the Indian Association of Community Psychology and Professor (Dr.) NK Saksena, Patron of the Indian Association of Community Psychology gave presentations on various aspects of community psychology at the during various sessions of the conference.
The conference was held as part of a series of academic initiatives undertaken by JIBS to advance multidisciplinary and empirical research in psychology and related fields.
It is relevant to mention that JIBS is a values-based research institute of OP Jindal World University and a member of the United Nations System Academic Council (ACUNS) which focuses on applied and experimental research in the fields of mental health, mapping skills, neuroscience, neural decision science, psychobiology, management science, forensic studies, social psychology and criminal behavior.
